Stay Curious Playground is an effort to create a safe environment where rural Moroccan children can play and learn essential life skills.

Project Coordinator: Maredith Farr

Maredith is an American who grew up on her family farm in Morocco. Her family and the farm have become part of the community and are employing local people through agriculture. In addition to learning valuable farm skills and becoming conversant in Arabic, she has also completed internships with organizations both in Morocco and the United States. Maredith sees this playground as the first stage of an even bigger project for the community. You can follow Maredith’s work on both YouTube and Instagram.

My passion is sharing resources with those who lack access and creating a safe learning space. Together with people from the surrounding communities, I hope to nurture a community where curiosity about the world and its people thrives, and where diversity is not feared but embraced.

Project Stage One: Stay Curious Playground will provide a safe space to foster social connection between parents and promote a sense of belonging for all children, especially those with disabilities. To this end, the playground will be wheelchair accessibility and inclusive play features such as double-wide slides, sensory/sound stations, and many intersections where children of different abilities and wealth can play together in an inclusive environment.

Future Project Stages Include: Our Home Community Center, Our Land Community Garden, Our World Petting Zoo and Children’s Museum

Becoming a partner in the completion of this playground aligns with our vision statement:

"By making small improvements to health and overall well-being today, it is possible to have a generational impact on individuals, families and communities.”
